On December 3, 2008, Lucia Alvarado, 6th Grade Teacher at Almond Tree Middle School, was announced as the winner for Educator of the Year for Region VII of the California League of Middle Schools.Region VII is comprised of Kern, Tulare, Kings, Fresno, Madera, and Mariposa Counties.Lucia was selected from a group of 10 finalists.Each regional winner will compete for the CLMS State Educator of the Year. The winner will be determined at the Annual California League of Middle Schools Conference to be held March 12-15.
