Measure J Bond Oversight Committee
The Delano Union Elementary School District (DUESD) Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) following the voter approval of a $41.8 million school facilities bond measure on the November 5, 2024 ballot.
Purpose and Responsibilities
The committee's primary role, as mandated by California’s Proposition 39, is to ensure bond proceeds are spent only on voter-approved projects and not on teacher or administrator salaries. Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring Expenditures: Reviewing reports to verify funds are used for classroom upgrades, security improvements, and facility repairs.
- Annual Reporting: Presenting an annual report to the Board of Trustees and the public regarding compliance.
- Auditing: Reviewing annual independent financial and performance audits of the bond program.
